Marquetry

Marquetry is the art of using cut veneers to create decorative patterns and designs.

I do this work by hand, with just an X-acto blade, cutting mat, a ruler, and occasionally a shop-made jig. Once the pieces are cut, they are taped together, glued to a panel, then carefully sanded and finished.
