PSYCH POP

Sculptures from June 2021 show – Carnegie Gallery, Dundas Ontario

This collection of work explores how the signs, symbols, and aesthetics of contemporary culture influence how we see the world. Is there a universal ‘alphabet’ of shape and form? A common language at the level of perception?

Here, doodles and automatic drawings are refined and carved into a more permanent form. This collection of work, with its shapes that are at once alien and familiar, seeks to tap into the building blocks of perception & thought that form the framework for how we see and interpret the world.
